We arrived on a typically cold, damp London morning at about 7 am. We were greeted cheerfully and informed that we had been upgraded to a three bedroom apartment. Our luggage was dealt with quickly and we were shown up to our apartment.

What a surprise. The apartments were quite lovely, having recently been renovated and redecorated. The bedrooms were roomy and very pleasant, all with individually controlled air con and heating. The bedrooms all get mornng sunshine, which was very pleasant and made the rooms seem very light and airy. The bathrooms (2) were new and very plush, with lots of fresh towels and toiletries. The living spaces were very generous and comfortable, comprising a spacious living room and a separate dining room. The kitchen had every mod con and a washing machine (they also have a laundry service if you cant be bothered doing your own )

These apartments are situated literally around the corner from Harrods, off Brompton Road, yet the street is quiet. Shops and restaurants are on your doorstep.

As we were travelling with our two children (11 and 14), it is often easier to have an apartment than a hotel room each and Beaufort house was certainly ideal and more reasonably priced than deluxe hotels.

The service was excellent, right down to the welcome basket of breakfast items for our arrival. (They will also do your grocery shopping for you're too lazy to slip around the corner to Marks &Spencers or across the road to Harrods 102.)

The apartment was lovely - there were simply no bad points.

If you are looking for a deluxe alternative to a hotel, Beaufort House is an excellent choice in central London. Will definitely stay here again when we return.

We (family with 16 yo and 19 yo) stayed six nights at Beaufort House this March. It was wonderful. Our apartment (no.21) was a renovated standard three bedroom on the sixth floor. Only one other apartment on the floor so it was very quiet. The apartment itself was spotless with furnishings that matched those shown on the website. Kitchen was very large and well equipped. The building is only one block from Harrods, a Sainsbury and a M&S Simply food -- so it was very easy to pick up whatever we needed and since the kitchen and dining area were so nice, we actually ate in twice. LInens of very good qualty and comfortable beds. The area is packed with small restaurants; pubs; cafes and a few "chain" restuarants that are good and inexpensive--so you have multiple dining options just a walk away. The staff was very helpful with suggesstions. In fact, the entire staff couldn't have been more pleasant and eager to make sure our stay was enjoyable. They provide you with a guest pass to a local health club--we were so busy we did not make use of it, but we did walk past and it looked very nice. There is a nicely furnished common room on the first floor, but that is the only common space. Security was very good--you have to ring to be admitted to the building and the desk is manned on a 24 hour basis. And this actually was a plus with teeanagers--they would frequently go out in the evening without us and we could just leave the key with security for them. The hotel is just two blocks from the Picadilly tube-very easy ride from Heathrow (but if you have heavy luggage there is a small flight of stairs you'll have to climb). That with the no. 9, 10 and 14 buses stopping nearby the location is ideal for using public transportation for sightseeing and gave our teenagers the chance to be indenpendent in getting around the city.

Only two negatives:

They permit smoking in the apartments. They are very good at removing any odors but even so there was a faintest smell of smoke in the curtains in one of the bedrooms. It was gone in 24 hours. The hotel may want to consider designating one or two of the units as non-smoking for really sensitive guests.

The tubwall in the master bath (tub/shower combo) was very high and could have used a grab bar. Even with that, an older guest might find it a bit intimidating. But the second bath in our apartment had a walk in shower so there would have been another option for them. If you are staying an an apartment with only one bath and this is a concern, you should inquire.

Would definitely return and recommend it to our friends.

From beginning to end Beaufort House gave us the homely feeling that made a difference to our trip. We had a one bedroom apartment with a little patio and it was just perfect for the two of us. We could prepare our own breakfast and light dinners in the kitchen and we had a living area with dining table and sofa. It was like being in a large hotel suite with a kitchen. The staff was ever so wonderful and the atmosphere was not too stuffy. Just perfect.

Me and my family stayed with the kids and we had a great time staying at BEAUFORT HOUSE. The staff were just Fab. I made our reservation over the phones and the person who answered was very poliet and helpful. They discribed the apartments to me in detail and suggested which type I should book to accommodate the whole family. When we arrived and booked in they took us to our apartment which was great and spacious. All through our stay the staff were so helpful will making dinner reservations and theatre bookings for us. We went on a tour to Oxford as well which they arranged for us.

House keeping were great as well they serviced our apartment every day and the cleaning was fantastic. We would come back a gain and again to stay at Beaufort house as we had a great time with then and would suggust any one to go and try them out. I am already planning my friends hen night stay there with the girls. A rare gem in the heart of London.
