Description

Located on the edge of London's Hyde Park, in Westbourne Terrace, W2, once described as 'quite the finest street in London', the new Royal Park Hotel has been created from three Grade II listed townhouses. Dating from 1842, the buildings have undergone total restoration with stunning interior design combining luxurious furnishings with the latest technology. The beds are the main feature of the rooms as hotels are first of all about a comfortable night's sleep. The magnificent and airy four poster and half tester beds which adorn the majority of the rooms are dressed with simple white linen fabrics. Hand made mattresses, crisp cotton sheets, soft woollen blankets and plump pillows all add up to the nest night's sleep in London.

Complimentary newspaper, glass of whisky or sherry upon check in, afternoon tea with warm scones and a glass of champagne with canapés in the evening are served to all out guests with our compliments.

48 bedrooms including 11 suites, mostly holding king size four posted beds, plus 1 board room suitable for meetings of up to 10 people. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning, broadband connection, DDI phones, satellite flat-screen TV, in-room safe, working desk, hairdryer, bathrobe and slippers.

The hotel is a 2 minute walk from Lancaster Gate and Paddington train station. Facilities include a drawing room, library, turn down service, bar, garden, concierge service, 24 hour reception and 24 hour room service.

Local attractions include Hyde Park, Oxford Street, Kensington Palace & Gardens, Notting Hill, Portobello Market, Madam Tussauds and the elegant district of Mayfair.

Our friendly and attentive staff will look after your every need throughout the stay. We look forward to seeing you at the Royal Park where you will find a warm welcome and a very English experience.

We arrived on a Saturday for two nights at the end of a 12 day trip to Ireland, Devon and a few nights in Hampshire with friends.

the hotel is located a five minute walk from Paddington which is in part why I chose it- -we had a morning flight to heathrow and wanted to use the Express train.

The room was standard size or a bit larger and was nicely complimented with accessories/amenities. The shower was fantastic. The bed was very very compfortable and the hotel was serene, peaceful and quiet.

We didn't sample the room service but got a nice reccomendation for an Indian place a few minutes walk away. (They also half way recommended the Mitre pub - don't go there- - the worst meal of our trip).

Note there are not too many pubs or restaurants right around this area - there are allot of hotels and flats but relatively few restaurants. But given the tube is so close - you can eat wherever you like.

Was looking forward to enjoying a great weekend with three other female friends. We travel together once a year for a "girls" weekend. Booked two twin rooms back in July and were rather disappointed to say the least when we were informed only three days before travel that Royal Park could only supply double rooms. Mature ladies do not want to share beds, even with their best friends. A very bad show from a so called top hotel. We don't stand for any of this and have since cancelled to unfortunatey pay more at another hotel at short notice. Not even an apology from the hotel. To advise a change from July to 2 December does not auger well for the standard of hotel. Hope this does not happen to others but beware!! They tend to forget whom the customer is.

We stayed at the Royal Park for a week and would absolutely stay there again and recommend it highly. The room was lovely, with a very comfortable and pretty bed and gorgeous bathroom - really superior facilities. The service, both from housekeeping and the front desk was excellent. (Paricularly Ash - who was unfailingly helpful.) This is a hotel that provides breakfast - on a tray to your room. We loved that. We prefer to dine out in a city - so not having a dining room was fine for us - and staff are happy to make recommendations.

The location is terrific - close to Paddington Station and Underground - so getting about is very easy. But it was also very quiet - and we slept really well. We also loved being able to walk to and through Hyde Park - and the combination of a busy bustling city and calm beautiful greenspace is great.

An outstanding hotel and a lovely holiday for us.
