Toptable says about The Gun Public House

Bang bang, you're fed. And watered too, or given something stronger, if you fancy it. The Gun is a gorgeous listed pub by the Thames that's had a painstaking, and tasteful, restoration and been kitted out with a mouthwatering chef, Micky O'Connor. 'Recently awarded 'Best Gastropub' by Time Out and a finalist in the ITV Restaurant Awards, The Gun serves the highest quality British food with emphasis on the finest fresh fish bought daily from nearby Billingsgate Market. Unusually for a pub, the wines are seriously worth the trip. You can sip your drink and contemplate the Millennium Dome and its future, or just drink and dine very well indeed.

I have to agree with friends who have recommended the venue that The Gun is top notch. Service was good and waitstaff was friendly and accommodating. We ordered seared scallops and cornish crab as starters, respectively and found it faultless; the rib of beef and roasted sea trout was spot on and for pudding we had a cheese and bread board; we found ourselves with a bit of cheese and no bread left and our waitress kindly obliged to provide us with extra bread. Would definitely return again!

The Gun pub/restsaursant was a fantatstic place to go for our first night out during a recent trip to London. The atmosphere was rtelaxed and welcoming. The staff were friendly and of course the food was really tasty. Excellent value for money especially with the deal we got through top table [2 courses and half a bottle of wine for £30]. We will definitely be going again the next time we are in London and would highly reccomend a visit!

Went for Sunday lunch. This was the first time we have been for Lunch at the Gun. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. The food was really enjoyable. We had the beef and pork - and would be happy with either. Excellent and happy to have taken friends out. Would definitely go back

The Gun was a lovely place to have dinner. The food was perfectly cooked (recommend the pollock) and the atmosphere was very pleasant - especially after the 2 drunks who had apparently been there since lunchtime left! i look forward to trying out the Portuguese barbeque in the summer!
