Toptable says about Trader Vic's
Trader Vic's has been a swinging place since the seventies, decked out as a Tahitian beach hut right here on Park Lane, with flower-print waitresses plying willing clientele with the best Mai Tai's ever mixed. This is the right place for relaxed business lunches, informal dinner, or romantic meals at any time. Check out the live lobster tank before you tuck into Island cuisine. Try the Cosmo Tidbits to start, while you sip your drinks, then move on to Creole Fish Soup, or mains of Indonesian rack of lamb from the Chinese wood-fired oven, served with grilled pineapple and peanut sauce, or wok-fried Szechuan butterfly prawns. There's a serious wine list and very brisk service.

Traders vic had an authentic tiki feel below the Hilton Park Lane you feel transported to warmer relaxed climes. The 3 courses offer lacked choice compared to other offers I've had so I was a little disappointed. The food wasn't too impressive and the only reason I'd go back is for their cocktails. Their extensive cocktails list is potent and inventive and def worth coming back for.
A very 'good fun' venue and I thought the staff were really friendly and looked after us very well. The rum cocktails served in big sea shells are highly recommended but the food was very average (just not very inspiring) and well overpriced.
Its a good novelty venue and a great laugh but far too pricey to warrant a repeat visit.
Excellent ambience, fantastic service - such friendly waiters and the food was incredible. When we got there we decided to order a la carte rather than from the set menu. I had piri piri prawns for starters which came half cooked and I then finished cooking them at the table, which was a fun thing to do. For main course I had fillet steak cooked in the wood burning oven which was incredible, the most beautifully (medium) cooked piece of meat. Will definately be going back
We dined at Trader Vic on the 3 courses and a cocktail deal for £30. The menu is limited; 3 choices for starter and main and the desert is pre-determined. There was only one choice for the cocktail. The menu is good value as the food is of a high quality and on average a main course is around £25. The restaurant is quite amusing not quite Hawaii but as close as you might get on a cold February evening. I would recommend ordering off the main cocktail menu as the selection is very good.
Trader Vic's cocktail menu deserves a mention alone; brilliant and generous concoctions, very potent! Our table had both a la carte and toptable set menu; while the former was good without being excellent in terms of value for money (i.e could go elsewhere for the same but cheaper), the set menu pork belly and dessert plate were exquisite, I'd go back just to get those! Polynesian decor was fun without being overbearing/tacky, all in all a nice venue but not the greatest bang for your buck.
