Toptable says about The Real Greek - Hoxton
When The Real Greek opened in Hoxton a few years ago, there was a stampede of diners thrilled by the regional Greek cuisine, the groovy ambience, the open kitchen, the authentic smells, the cool waitstaff. Now, like Troy, London's neighbourhoods are being conquered from within by new branches of the smart, sleek, trendy Real Greek. The Real Greek is a very hip place, very Manhattan, in which to enjoy Greek dishes quite unlike the normal fare - perfect for a light bite while out trawling through the shops of Islington. The souvlaki concept encourages sharing and the narrow tables make it easy. Try hand-rolled stuffed vine leaves, crispy cheese balls with herbs or lightly-battered salt cod.

review of The Real Greek - Hoxton

Greek food as it should be, and as it so often isnt. Offering lots of small dishes, ideal for ordering en mass and sharing. You wont be disappointed here. The kind of place you could take your visiting holiday romance to remind them of the old country.

Tuesday was a little quiet but the service and food was fabulous at the Real Greek. We had a brilliant waiter who was very attentive and recommended an excellent combination of flavours. Definitely do the mezze - everything was absolutely delicious! Highly recommended!
Really nice restaurant, however chicken wasn't on the menu tonight due to a supplier error. It didn't spoil our evening though the staff were lovely!
great food... we ate like kings... the service was a bit of miss, since it was very difficult to grab the attention of any waiters. however, when they came to our table, they were very friendly. The venue is gorgeous. a brilliant place for parties. just a shame with the poor service that we received last night...
I came to the Real Greek & Mezedopolio with only modest expectations, and I'm afraid these were only just met. The staff were not particularly welcoming and the service perfunctory at best, and there was certainly the air of a "chain" establishment about every aspect of the meal (including the hardly justifiable prices). The big plus about this venue is the wonderful listed building it is somewhat incongruously housed in; I recommend popping in for a drink instead.
Great restaurant - good food and friendly, but not overwhelming, service.
Would recommend for an easy-going business lunch. Portions aren't huge though so someone with a huge appetite might struggle!
