Toptable says about Acorn House
Come to Acorn House Restaurant in London's King's Cross for a great meal and leave with a clear conscience. Acorn House is London's very first completely eco-friendly restaurant, from the veg ink on the menus to the used chip fat that runs Acorn's green taxi service to the eco-friendly means by which the seasonal ingredients arrive at the kitchen, this restaurant leads the way. The design is sleek and modern with a visible kitchen at one end. Head Chef Arthur Potts changes the Modern London menu at least monthly to take advantage of peak produce. (Psst. Try Acorn's beetroot soup.) The international wine list features Sussex and Kentish labels and a training programme benefits local people.

A very good menu without too much choice but all the dishes sounded appetising and to appeal to different tastes and requirements. I would certainly go again and recommend friends. I bought the cook book!
Food was superb at Acorn house, I would describe most of the menu as comfort food. Odd location with Kings Cross still being developed but once inside, we were looked after warmly by the staff. For a Saturday lunch it was quite empty. The prices aren't prohibitive but it's not cheap for three courses. Lovely English wines on offer
Acorn House is still one of my favourite restaurants. Food fantastic and a great menu. Shame both pasta dishes were off though, and my Tali, though delightful, seemed a little overpriced at £16.50?
It's my second visit to Acorn House and it didn't disappoint at all. The food has changed with the seasons and is still fantastic. Great VFM for wonderful quality of food.
Service was quicker this time and they were friendly with it.
Acorn House is no 21st-century gimmick. Although a little overpriced, firmly keeping Green issues among the chattering middle classes, we were all won over. My friend said his pigeon starter was grand, though my bland (where was the sweetness?) red pepper & sweet potato soup was saved by a glut of aioli. The mains shone, from the generous curry to the succulent lamb and the tender sea bream. Staff were always attentive and friendly, but not overbearing. Environmentalism never tasted so good...
