Toptable says about Notting Grill

The dreadful pun in its name tells you immediately that Anthony Worral Thompson's Holland Park restaurant is the antidote to foodie pretentiousness. The jolly décor with its deep red colour scheme is as full blooded and 'full on' as the food. Notting Grill was born in part out of AWT's quest for really good meat and there's plenty of it on his menu. Aberdeen Angus has been hanging for 35 days to its develop flavour and tenderness. Dishes are simple and comforting but perfectly executed and the portions are hearty.

We went to Notting Grill for the first time to celebrate a birthday after trying (and thoroughly enjoying!) the twice cooked pork with apple chili jelly at the London Taste festival in the Summer. The restaurant was much smaller than we imagined, and the description 'hearty portions' was a little ambitious, but there was a cosy atmosphere and the food tasted lovely.

Food was good. But service overall was poor, notwithstanding the fact that there were only two other tables occupied during the time we were there.

The Notting Grill is the perfect venue for a sunday lunch with a few friends. The food is yummy, the staff friendly and helpful and it was good value for money too! I would definitely go here again!

We went to Notting Grill last thursday for dinner with a 6.30 slot. We were the only people in there until 8ish which didnt help the ambience but it was nice to have the place to ourselves. service was excellent and we had a nice table in the corner by the window. It was slightly cold in there as it was empty. The food was good. Very simple and decent portions but there is lots to choose from. Well worth a visit.
